Charge your power bank using a power outlet before taking it hiking or camping so that it’s ready for immediate use. Since the sun’s intensity changes with differing environmental factors, it may take longer to charge fully when out, so it is advisable to first charge it before. 

The USB cap may feel tight in order to keep any water out. Using your first three fingers, pry the cap upwards to access the ports.
